Our Groups
Donation-based peer-led skills groups for emotional wellness.
Learn DBT, IFS, and other evidence-based skills in a supportive community — no experience or diagnosis required.
What are skills groups?
Think of it like a book club, but for emotional wellness.
Community-based
A small group of people who meet regularly to learn and practice life skills together. Not therapy, not a class — peers helping each other grow.
Evidence-based
Every meeting includes mindfulness, skill building, and open discussion. Real techniques from approaches like DBT and IFS you can take into daily life.
Low commitment
Show up, participate as much or as little as you want, and leave with tools you can actually use. No ongoing obligation.
What we teach
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
DBT was originally developed to help people manage intense emotions. It teaches practical, everyday skills that anyone can benefit from — not just people in therapy.
Distress Tolerance
Survive crisis moments without making things worse. Learn to ride the wave.
Mindfulness
Be present, observe without judgment, and participate fully in your life.
Emotion Regulation
Understand your emotions, reduce vulnerability, and build positive experiences.
Interpersonal Effectiveness
Ask for what you need, say no, and maintain self-respect in relationships.
IFS (Internal Family Systems)
IFS helps you understand the different “parts” of yourself — the inner critic, the anxious protector, the wounded child — and develop a compassionate relationship with all of them. It's about self-leadership: learning to lead from your calm, curious, confident core Self.
Parts work
Recognize and name the different voices within you
Self-leadership
Access your calm, curious, compassionate core
Unburdening
Release old pain and limiting beliefs safely
Coming soon: ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), Somatics, and more modalities as our community grows.
How we're different
Built for accessibility, community, and real-world results.
Accessible
Donations welcome, never required. These skills should be accessible to everyone.
Peer-led, professionally informed
Groups are led by trained peers. Our board includes licensed clinicians who advise on curriculum and practices.
Primarily in-person
Real people meeting in real places. Online groups available for those who need them.
Open to everyone
No diagnosis, no therapy prerequisite, no experience needed. Just show up.
We believe evidence-based skills like DBT and IFS belong to everyone. Many therapy skills are teachable by anyone with guidance — which is why we're building leader manuals that make it simple for anyone to sit down together and practice these skills, whether that's a family, a friend group, a church, or a workplace.
What to Expect
Everything you need to know before your first meeting.

What our community says
"DBT w Friends provided me with much needed moral support, comfort and encouragement when my teenage daughter was first diagnosed with BPD. The skills learned are still instrumental in navigating tough experiences with her."
